A meeting was held at the Montevideo VFW on Tuesday evening to unveil a new plan to provide farmers with health insurance.

A meeting was held at the Montevideo VFW on Tuesday evening to unveil a new plan to provide farmers with health insurance. Farmers have seen drastic rate increases in recent years as insurance premiums have skyrocketed.

In response, state representative Tim Miller along with other legislators, introduced legislation to help farmers and their families afford health insurance. The legislation passed both the house and the senate and was signed by Gov. Mark Dayton.

Miller said: “40 Square is a free market choice in public health care.” He went on to describe how farmers have been hit especially hard by increases in health care premiums.
