The Fiesta City Liquor Store in Montevideo had total sales of $2,260,668 in 2016. The liquor store’s gross profit was $591,505 which was 26.6 percent of sales.

Operating expenses were $549,311, and  total income for the year was $42,194. Additional revenues totaled $3,680 for a net profit of $45,367.

The combined net profit of all municipal liquor operations in Minnesota totaled $22.8 million in 2016, which is a $2.1 million decrease from 2015.

On-sale businesses saw profits dip  $674,813, or 18.8 percent,  while off-sale operations saw a decrease of $1.4 million or a 6.6 percent drop.

This has continued the downward  trend of the past five years where total municipal net profits have fallen 16.4 percent over the period.  Of interest is the fact that 44 of the 45 cities with losses were located in Greater Minnesota.
