A large number of veterans and supporters attended a rally on Tuesday afternoon at the American Legion in Montevideo. The purpose of the rally was to provide an update on the status of the proposed veterans home for Montevideo.

Post 59 Commander Marvin Garbe, chairman of the veterans home committee, opened the rally by thanking the many people who have worked so hard to bring a veterans home to Montevideo.

Garbe then announced that funding is now available for 234 beds. The news was welcomed with a round of applause from the audience.

Garbe went on to introduce State Senator Andrew Lang and Representative Tim Miller to the crowd. Lang and Miller have been working hard to see that a veterans home gets built in Montevideo.
