Tremaine Michael Bucholz, 20, of Minneapolis, was sentenced on Thursday, Dec. 21, in Chippewa County District Court on charges of felony criminal damage to property and a gross misdemeanor count of failure to stop for a collision.

As part of a plea agreement, two felony counts of second degree assault with a dangerous weapon were dismissed.

On the evening of Aug. 28, 2017, Bucholz was driving his car when he struck his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend as they were riding bicycles near the Eastgate Apartments in Montevideo.

Both victims were injured in the incident, with the woman suffering scrapes and cuts over her body, and the man suffering unspecified injuries. Both bicycles were destroyed.
