The Montevideo City Council met in regular session on Monday, March 5. Several items were considered for approval on the consent agenda.

The council considered approval of verified claims for the period ending March 2, 2018 in the amount of $228,510.90. The payment of verified claims was approved.

An application submitted by the Montevideo Area Chamber of Commerce for use of city property for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 17 from 5-7 p.m. was considered and approved.

The Chamber of Commerce also submitted an application for the use of city property for the “Easter Egg-Citement” egg hunt in Smith Park on Saturday, March 31 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The application was approved.

The council also approved the Chamber of Commerce’s application for the use of city property (including Main Street sidewalks) for a “Market in Monte” flea market and vendor show on Saturday, May 12.

In general business, the council considered a Planning Commission recommendation for a Conditional Use Permit for an accessory building exceeding size requirements in an R1 District at 1610 Wolffe Ave. The accessory building would total 1,620 square feet.
