The Fiesta City Speedway held its 2017 Awards Banquet this past Saturday at the VFW in Montevideo.

The Fiesta City Speedway held its 2017 Awards Banquet this past Saturday at the VFW in Montevideo. A large crowd turned out to enjoy a meal and congratulate last season’s point champions.

In the Pure Stock class, Abby Hacker won the points championship followed by Cody Hatch (2nd), Tad Peterson (3rd), Brodie Woods (4th), and Austen Bowmen, (5th).

Jordan Tollakson won the Street Stock class followed by Ben Albertson, Justin Tammen, Derek Rieck, and Jim Williams.

For the Midwest Modifieds, Corey Storck took home the championship trophy, followed by Tim Kanten, Darren Engesser, Josh Roggatz, and Ryan Schleusner.

In the Super Stock class, Jon Tollakson placed first with Jacober Knapper coming in second, Jeff Crouse in third, Brayden Hedtke in fourth, and Ben Johnson in fifth.

The Hornet class was won by Dustin Virkus. He was followed by Noah Nelson, Dustin Miller, Brady Hagen, and Austin Moen.

The 2018 Fiesta City Speedway season gets underway on on Friday, April 27 with a test and tune night at the track. The first race is scheduled for Friday, May 4.
