On Sat. June 9 there will be a fundraiser for Fred Blom on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fred Blom, 64, of Montevideo, a former teacher, and has been battling heart disease for years and is currently experiencing end-stage congestive heart failure.

The fundraiser, Main Street Day, will include live music from the Hep Cats, line dancing with Arlene Kranz, multiple businesses and vendors on display, face painting for children, and a silent auction. Participating merchants include Culligan Water, the Hollywood on Main, Valentino’s, The HomeStore Design Center, Gervais Jewelry, Montevideo Publishing, and more.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to Help Hope Live in honor of Fred, and will be used to offset medical expenses through its North Central Transplant Fund. Donations can also be made by calling (800) 642-8399, and to keep up with Fred’s journey visit www.helphopelive.org.
