It was a busy week for the Montevideo American Legion baseball team, playing five games in three days.

On Monday evening, the team hosted Madison. In what turned out to be a classic pitcher’s duel between Monte’s Max Carruth and Madison’s Peyton Mortenson, Monte came out on top by a score of 1-0.

Carruth started on the mound and went the distance for the complete game shutout win. He gave up five hits and struck out six in six innings pitched.

Mortenson took the loss giving up six hits, striking out three, and allowing only one run scored.
