The 2nd Annual VITO Range Day will be held this Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Mills Creek Gun Range one mile north of Montevideo on Highway 29. The event begins at 10 a.m., and lasts until 3 p.m.

Steve James, founder of Veterans In The Outdoors, said: “Last year we had a phenomenal turnout. The range couldn’t hold anymore people!”

VITO Range Day gives veterans and members of the public to opportunity to shoot firearms and spend time together. “We have a lot of firearms available to shoot, as well as ammunition for certain calibers. We do encourage firearms owners to bring their own firearms and ammunition, though,” James said.

The event is free, and there is no charge to try out a firearm. “It’s not a money maker for us. We are promoting the sport and letting people see for themselves what it is all about,” said James.
