If you were worried about where you going to go for fresh, perfectly sun ripened apples this fall, your worries are over! Travis and Jeanne Anderson of Montevideo will be helping Dave and Avis Swenson with the orchard for another year full of apples.

If you were worried about where you going to go for fresh, perfectly sun ripened apples this fall, your worries are over! Travis and Jeanne Anderson of Montevideo will be helping Dave and Avis Swenson with the orchard for another year full of apples.

Travis Anderson, son of Mike and Kelly Anderson, is a local carpenter and farmer. His wife Jeanne, daughter of Dale and Stephanie Rosenau, works part-time as a crop insurance adjuster and as a server at Toppers, as well as being a stay at home mom to their new son Miles.

Travis and Jeanne’s dream is to create a store where people can support the locals, buy fresh produce and most importantly, know where their food is coming from and what is in their food.

Anderson Family Farms was created when we realized we wanted to become as self-sufficient as possible, and help our families do the same. At the store  further up the driveway you will be able to find fresh eggs, sweet corn, green beans, tomatoes, apples (of course!), Bongards cheese and place pork and beef orders (depending on availability). There will also be a variety of hand crafted items, jams/jellies and honeys to choose from.

We have a passion for food, animals and a simple way of living. We hope to be able to share that passion with you. The self-serve trailer located at the end of the driveway at the Swenson Orchard, located 3 miles north of Montevideo on Highway 29, has been open since August 1. The store hours will be Tuesday-Thursday 2pm-7pm. After Labor Day, the store also be open on weekends.

Please check out our Anderson Family Farms page on Facebook as that is where the updates will be happening.
