For the past several weeks, the MN Dept. of Transportation has been working on the underpass that leads to Lagoon Park. The work necessitated the closure of the park as MnDOT crews lowered the roadway to increase clearance under the bridge. According to Aaron Blom, Montevideo Public Works Director, paving of the underpass is expected to begin today (Thursday) or tomorrow, depending on the weather. If that happens Blom expects the park will reopen the by the middle or end of next week. (Staff photo by Mike Milbrandt)

CORRECTION: The photo caption of the bridge underpass leading to Lagoon Park on the front page of last week's American-News incorrectly stated that  the project is being done by MnDOT. The project is actually a part of the Flood Mitigation Project. We apologize for the error
