The Montevideo School Board met in regular session on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. at the district board room in the middle school.

The first order of business was a special presentation by Mike Hubbard of ICS consultants who was present to help lay out the next steps of the facility planning process. The board discussed the formation of the initial facility committee and sub-committees that might also be formed.

The following items on the consent agenda were approved: The minutes of the regular October board meeting, along with the special meetings held on Oct. 11 and 29; November bills; the Treasurer’s report; budget reports; employment of new staff, resignations, in addition to reassignments. Jacey Seubert will work full time at Little Thunder Hawk Care, Kyle Goslee will be the Clay Target/Trap team coach, and Joann Ahlers will be checker for ala carte at the MHS.

A resolution accepting a gift, donation, contribution or bequest was considered. Dyshaw Auto Body donated $90 toward the Thunder Hawk Book Buddy Program. The resolution was approved.

Dr. Heller next gave the superintendent’s report, announcing the Holiday Tea in the MMS Commons on Dec. 19 at 2:15 p.m., along with registration for the MSBA Winter Conference at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Jan. 16 through 18. He also went over a number of upcoming key meetings, including parent-teacher conferences on Nov. 19 and 20 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Dec. 5 early dismissal and the Dec. 10 board meeting at 6 p.m.

Next on the agenda, the fiscal year 2020 budget was discussed, and the board went over the FY20 budget development calendar.
