On Thursday, Dec. 15, at approximately 3:20 p.m. the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 240th Avenue and 560th Street, southeast of Granite Falls. Driver’s, Tom Ross and Mary Behr, both of rural Granite Falls, sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported by ambulance to the Granite Falls hospital. Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the Upper Sioux Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and Granite Falls Fire and Ambulance.
Last week was a good week for Montevideo police. Two vandalism investigations succeeded in nabbing more than a dozen juveniles allegedly involved in damaging the lighted reindeer display at Smith Park two weeks ago, as well as break-ins at Ramsey Elementary School and vandalism at the Milwaukee Road Heritage Center earlier this fall.
Last Tuesday night, for the second year in a row, vandals damaged some of the Christmas decoration reindeer on display at Smith Park by the Montevideo Lion’s Club. The Montevideo Police Department is willing to offer a reward for any information that would lead to a resolution of the crime.
