- After June 1, to travel from Montevideo to Dawson you will no longer be able to head south out of Montevideo to reach the detours by taking County Road 42.Head north to Highway 7 and take it across town in Montevideo until you reach Cenex. Then, head south on County Road 15 just beside Cenex. Continue south until you see the grain elevator on your right, and take a right going across the train tracks. Then take a left onto Highway 212 going southeast.Follow Highway 212 until you reach County Highway 5 (also known as 310th Avenue) and head west. Continue west, even after County Highway 5 becomes County Highway 2. When the road reaches County Road 23, take it north until it eventually reaches Dawson.
