The Montevideo softball team concluded the regular season by winning four of six games, bringing their record for the season to 12-10.

The Montevideo softball team concluded the regular season by winning four of six games, bringing their record for the season to 12-10.

The Thunder Hawks will open Section 3AA tournament play on Tuesday. Montevideo will be on the road, possibly at Morris in a 4 p.m. game.

Monte 15, Benson 12

After edging Benson 3-0 in a pitchers’ duel three days earlier, the Braves and Thunder Hawks combined for 27 runs and 22 hits in a slugfest last Thursday at Montevideo.

Trailing 9-4 in the bottom of the fourth, the T-Hawks tied it on a two-run double by Kaylee Glomstad and an rbi single by Kari Fragodt.

Rachel West’s three-run homer in the fifth gave Montevideo a 13-11 lead. The senior first baseman drove in five runs.

A two-run double by Abby Olson, one of her three hits in the game, gave the T-Hawks a couple of insurance runs in the sixth.
