The Montevideo American Legion baseball team has been playing some good baseball recently, winning three games this past week.

On Monday evening, Monte hosted Canby in a double header. Monte won the game 10-2, powered by bases loaded triples by Blaine Sederstrom and Cade Weber.

Seth Kuno started on the mound for Monte and pitched a fine game going the distance, allowing only four hits and two runs to earn the win.

In the second game, Monte’s offense was again on fire as they pounded out 10 hits and 11 runs for an 11-1 victory in five innings.

Stats for the games against Canby were unavailable.

On Tuesday evening, Monte hosted Kerkhoven in a game that was scheduled to be played in Kerkhoven, but was moved to Montevideo due to poor field conditions.

Montevideo defeated Kerkhoven by a score of 6-2. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when Monte put five runs across the plate.

Kerkhoven answered with two runs in the top of the fourth, but that was all they would get thanks to starting pitcher Max Carruth. John VanRavenswaay came in to relieve Carruth in the top of the sixth and held Kerkhoven hitless to secure the win for Monte.

Van Ravenswaay led Monte at the plate going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an rbi.
