Perfect weather graced the Minnesota State Jr. Legion Tournament held in Montevideo this past weekend, as eight teams from across the state vied for the championship.

 

Perfect weather graced the Minnesota State Jr. Legion Tournament held in Montevideo this past weekend, as eight teams from across the state vied for the championship.

Four games were played on Friday. In the first game of the day Aitkin bested Sacred Heart/MACCRAY by a score of 5-1. Next up was Starbuck vs. Cook County. Starbuck shut out Cook County 4-0.

At 3 p.m., an opening ceremony was held. All eight teams were introduced and lined up around the infield base path. The Montevideo American Legion Riders drove on the warning track in the outfield, and members of the National Guard presented the colors while the National Anthem was sung.
