The Thunder Hawks girls swim and dive team traveled to Willmar on Saturday to compete in the 2018 MSHCA True Team Section 3A Championships.

The Thunder Hawks girls swim and dive team traveled to Willmar on Saturday to compete in the 2018 MSHCA True Team Section 3A Championships. Monte finished in 8th place overall out of nine teams.

Hutchinson won the championship with 1,683.5 points. The Tigers were followed in second place by Delano, and Waconia was third.

In True Team competition, each participant in each event receives points, hence the importance of each swimmer to a team’s overall points. In essence, it is truly a team competition.

Medals were awarded to the top eight finishers in each event, and Cortney Pauling medaled in all four of her events for the Thunder Hawks. Individually, she placed 8th in the 50 and 100 free, was on the 7th place 200 medley and 200 free relay teams of Greta Rongstad, Zola Olson, and Cortney Pauling.
