On Tuesday, the Crossings golf course in Montevideo was the site for the West Central Conference cross country meet.

 

On Tuesday, the Crossings golf course in Montevideo was the site for the West Central Conference cross country meet. The weather was perfect for running, with sunny skies and cool temps.

The Morris Area girls team finished first, followed by Sauk Centre, Melrose, and Benson/KMS. Montevideo placed fifth and they were followed by BOLD/BLH in sixth.

The top three finishers for the girls were Sophie Kluver of Sauk Centre, Maddie Carrington of Morris Area, and Meredith Carrington of Morris Area.

The top finisher for the Thunder Hawks was Addie Opdahl, who finished the race in 25th place. Hayley Voller placed 27th, Hailey Dirksen was 30th, Lauren Hanna was 31st, Leah Anderson was 34th, and Emma Stueck was 38th overall.

The Morris Area boys team were also crowned conference champions. They were followed in second place by Melrose Area and third place Benson/KMS.

The Thunder Hawks boys team placed fourth, and they were followed by Sauk Centre, BOLD/BLH, and Minnewaska Area.

Bryce Nelson once again led the way for the Monte boys, finishing in 16th place overall. Aaron Roelike was 19th, Dain Winters was 25th, Bryton Nelson was 28th, John VanRavenswaay was 35th, Connor Walz was 36th, and Rigo Turrubiartes was 38th.

Next Thursday, the Thunder Hawks travel to Luverne for the section cross country meet.
