Last Thursday, the Thunder Hawks boys and girls cross country teams competed in the West Central Conference meet at Luverne. The boys team finished 8th overall out of 23 teams, while the girls placed 15th out of 17 teams.
Co-head coach Jamie Harrington was proud of his team’s efforts. He said: “The boys had a great performance and finished about as well as could be hoped. The girls battled some illness and injury, but still had a gritty, gutty performance.”
Harrington has mixed feelings about the season coming to an end, but he feels optimistic about the future of cross country in Montevideo. “It feels strange to be done, but we’re proud of the effort shown in Luverne, and excited about our program’s future. We have great numbers and solid talent in our younger grades, so it feels like we will be trending in the right direction.
