Montevideo High School Cross Country boys and girls team as well as Girl’s Tennis held their season ending banquets yesterday, Sunday, Oct. 26. The cross country teams had pizza from Jake’s Pizza with carrots and celery and plenty of ranch at the high school cafeteria. Girls tennis had a potluck at The House.

Thunderhawk Kailey Maroney, the standout girls tennis player who competed in the State Tournament this morning and afternoon, is still alive. The junior lost her 8 a.m. match this morning 0-6, 0-6, knocking her out of the championship tournament.

The Montevideo football team lost its opening game in Section 6AAA play at home versus the Annandale Cardinals by a score of 22-13 on Tuesday night. Monte­video outgained the Cardinals 369 yards to 262 and had a slight lead in first downs at 12-10.

Seventh and eighth grade girls tennis has a match today, weather permitting. It will be held at the tennis courts next to the TACC center at 4;30 p.m.. The match is against Yellow Medicine East.

The Montevideo Cross Country Invitational was held last night, Tuesday, Sept. 30 at The Crossings Golf Course. Both the varsity boys and girls teams took second place. The boys were competing against seven other schools, the girls five.
