Phillip Ward wins PGA Junior golf tournament

Phillip Ward of Monte­video shot a three-over-par 75 to win his age bracket in a Minnesota PGA Junior golf tournament at The Crossings Tuesday.

Ward, who will be a junior in high school this fall, finished two shots ahead of Taylor Olson of Granite Falls.

Twenty-seven boys and six girls ages 13-18 competed in the tournament.

Ward previously qualified for the Minnesota Section Junior PGA Championships to be held July 1-13 at Giant’s Ridge near Biwabik by shooting a 73 at the Marshall Golf Club.
