Several Montevideo Area Special Olympics athletes competed in the state bocce ball tournament in Maple Grove Aug. 22.
Taking first place were the two-person teams of Bennie Benson-Eric Krueger, and Jermaine Carroll-Jesse Danielson.
Placing second were Amanda Bauer-Patty Johnson, Tim Binnebose-Joe Wanke, Jody French-Hayley Swanson, and Darcy Johnson-Julie Maus.
In third place were Steve Brokke-Nathan Van Gorp, Paul Enstad-Doug Pierce, Quentin Ohm-Kyle Swanson, and Michael Rigge-Tom Schewe.
In fourth place were Melissa Keding-Alma Quenemoen.
