The Montevideo girls basketball team is seeded second in the Section 3AA North tournament and the Thunder Hawks will open at home Saturday at 7 p.m. against No. 7 seed BOLD.

Other first-round match­ups Saturday pit top-seeded Minne­sota Valley Lutheran hosting Tracy-Milroy-Bal­a­ton; No. 5 seed Redwood Valley at No. 4 YME; and No. 6 Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop at No. 3 Lac qui Parle Valley.

Fairmont is the No. 1 seeded in the South half of the section tournament.

A Montevideo win over BOLD would send the T-Hawks into the North semifinals against the winner of the GFW vs. LqPV game Tuesday at a site that won’t be determined until after Saturday’s games.
