A big turnout of 93 cars were in the pits on Friday night at Fiesta City Speedway, as the WISSOTA Modifieds made their final appearance of the season.
Brandon Nelson of New London took the lead to start the 20-car, 20-lap WISSOTA Modified feature. Nate Heinrich of Madison took the lead with five laps to go and went on for the feature win. J. J. Schuelke of Dawson was second, with Dennis Bitzen of Farwell finishing in third place.
Randy Bjerkeset of Clarkfield led all 12 laps of the Pure Stock feature for his first win of the year. Jesse Timm of Wood Lake was second and Maria Konold of Clear Lake, S.D., third.
Tim Kanten of Milan took the lead to start the WISSOTA Mod IV feature. Rob VanMil of Hawley took the lead on lap 8 and went on to win his second feature of the year. Tim Kanten finished second and Tom Silver of Glenwood was third.
Kelly Timm of Hanley Falls took the lead to start the WISSOTA Street Stock feature. Mike Jans of Clarkfield took the lead from Timm with two laps to go. After a late caution, Justin Tammen of Clara City made the top side of the race track work for him, as he passed Jans as they were coming to take the checkered flag. Timm finished third.
Tim Ims of Granite Falls took the lead at the beginning of the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature. Marshal Tofte of Madison took the lead from Ims on lap 8. Brian Haben of Holloway grabbed the lead from Tofte with four laps to go, but Tofte retook the lead with two laps to go and went on to win his second feature of the season. Haben was second, with Tyler Limoges of Redwood Falls taking third.
Don Eischens of Richmond led the WISSOTA Super Stock feature flag to flag for his second win of the year. Jeremy Jerve of Montevideo was second, followed by Mike Jans of Clarkfield.
Brian Schultz of Montevideo took the lead to start the WISSOTA Late Model feature. Kyle Peterlin of Hibbing) took over the lead with three laps to go and went on to get his first win of the year at Fiesta City Speedway. Schultz was second and Damin Eilers of Canby third.
Friday’s WISSOTA Street Stock special is sponsored by Food-N-Fuel, Redline Graphics, Montevideo Publishing and Landmark’s Hilltop Rock & Gravel. The vintage cars will also be coming to Fiesta City Speedway this week. Races start at 7 p.m.
With two weeks left in the season, point championships are still up for grabs in most of the classes.
