Coming off a pair of last-second losses the previous week, the Montevideo boys basketball team bounced back in a big way with three straight wins.

The Thunder Hawks are now 10-3 in the West Central Conference South standings and 11-9 overall.

The T-Hawks will travel to Grove City today (Thurs­day) for a conference game against ACGC.

Montevideo 60, BOLD 39
The Thunder Hawks snapped a three-game losing streak at the expense of the visiting Warriors Thursday.

Jake Douglas paced the T-Hawks with 19 points. Colton Vien and Brett Bergeson added 12 points each, as Montevideo shot 49 percent from the field and outrebounded BOLD 39-26.

Colton Vien scored Montevideo’s first 16 points and the T-Hawks romped to a lop-sided home win over Paynesville Friday.

Vien finished with a season-high 23 points to lead three Montevideo players in double figures. Ryan Boike and Jake Douglas had 10 points each.

Montevideo swept the season series with an 11-point win over the visiting Eagles Tuesday.
Montevideo opened a 26-17 lead in the first half, getting consecutive three-point baskets from Ryan Boike and another three from Brett Bergeson. For the game, the T-Hawks were 11-for-23 from three-point range.

The Eagles went on a 9-0 run to cut Montevideo’s lead to 48-45 with 11 minutes left, but Boike hit a three-pointer and Jake Douglas made a three-point play to give the T-Hawks some breathing room.
