Harriers open season at Morris

The Montevideo cross country teams got the season off and running by competing in the Morris Invitational Monday.

The Montevideo girls finished third out of seven complete teams, while the Thunder Hawks boys team was seventh in an 11-team field.

Leading the way for the Montevideo girls was senior Hannah Ehling, who finished ninth.

Senior Aaron Erickson paced the Montevideo boys with a 19th-place finish.

Junior Chase Testa won the boys junior varsity race, and Adam DeZeeuw was the champion in the seventh-grade boys run. Trisha Jakobs won the eighth-grade girls race.

The next meet for the Montevideo harriers will be the BBE Invitational Sept. 9 at Brooten.
