The Montevideo swimming and diving team will compete in the Section 3A meet at Detroit Lakes Friday and Saturday.
Swimming prelimaries start at 5 p.m. Friday. Diving prelims are at 10 a.m. Saturday, with swimming and diving finals starting at 2 p.m.
Montevideo coach Matt Olson says Melrose/Sauk Centre, Willmar, Hutchinson and Fergus Falls figure to vie for the team title.
“On paper we have good chances to advance to the second day and the state meet, but it all depends on our athletes; how bad do they want it and are they willing to dig so deep that their body begs them to step down,” said Olson.
