Community Listening sessions held for input on School District’s proposed facilities plan

Last week, the Montevideo School District, along with representatives from the firm the district hired to do a facilities study, and an architecture firm hired by the district hosted two different Community Listening Sessions in order to gather input from community members on the facilities study and proposed construction.

Dirksen signs letter of intent

On Wednesday October 19th, Montevideo Senior Hailey Dirksen participated in a letter of intention signing to play basketball at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. Dirksen has been accepted to the university and will be attending in the fall of 2023.

Jesus emphasized that faith the size of a mustard seed is all you need; Jesus reminds us to give thanks and praise; Jesus reminds us to pray always; Jesus helps us see how we are like both the tax collector and the Pharisee.

Have you noticed how blue the sky becomes as we move through the fall season? The autumn colors of reds, yellows and oranges are all positioned on the color wheel opposite of blue, thus complimenting each other. This is brilliantly displayed as the blue of the sky forms a backdrop for the radiant hues of the tree leaves in the foreground.

While I’m still plowing through my most chaotic month of the year, I’ve come to the realization that sometimes happiness is really ten minutes in the sun with a cup of coffee, away from all devices of contact. It can be pretty easy to find yourself overwhelmed quite suddenly without realizing it’s happening. My moment came after a long weekend of photography work, with a full day of wedding photography followed by a day of photographing milestones for toddlers.

OF THE WEEK Two-tone Brownies 3/4 cup flour 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup shortening 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 cup chopped nuts Beat all until well mixed about one minute. Spread half of the mixture in a 9x9 inch pan - to the remaining batter blend in one ounce melted chocolate.
