Blame criminals instead of guns

“Gun violence” is a politically correct term that the far left has jumped on like a trout on a mayfly.

It is used to indicate that firearms are responsible for violence. The term also offers an excuse for every dope dealing, turf protecting drug dealer from responsibility for their violence. The left suggests it’s not really people, it’s the guns that produce the violence.

This term leaves out the following facts. The criminal buys or steals the gun. The criminal loads the gun with the appropriate ammunition and then takes the gun out on the street. Out of a malignant, evil heart, he then points it an another human being and shoots them as well as several innocent bystanders in the area. This is all actions no law abiding, moral firearm owner ever takes.

A firearm is an inanimate object incapable of perpetrating any violence. Violence takes a malignant heart no firearm possesses. How about we refer to it as “criminal violence.”

Using the leftist terminology, we could refer to war, the ultimate violence between humans, as “gun war.” It’s not the fact that statesmen, generally older men, send younger men from the various nations out to kill each other. No, that is not the case. It is those rotten Kalashnikov AK-47s and M-4s that are causing the violence!

Does a stabbing, of which there are many, constitute “knife violence?” If someone bashes another in the head with a bat is that “Louisville Slugger violence?”

“Gun violence” is simply a term invented by liberal progressives to sway a culture into disarming the law abiding. This, of course will not, in any degree whatsoever, dissuade any criminal from shooting up his neighborhood.

Wait a minute! Maybe those progressives have something. I’ve put on a few pounds lately. It’s my fork that’s responsible!

Security concerns not addressed

I am writing to express my appreciation to the American-News for expending precious resources to provide a public forum to discuss bathroom and locker room legislative bills in state government to prevent males who “identify” with females from using females’ public restrooms and showers.

The rebuttal to my initial letter to the editor justified allowing men to use female’s facilities essentially on the basis that the Sodomites he knew would not pose a problem.

Even if true, that rebuttal does not address females’ privacy concerns at all, and it does not substantively address their security concerns.

Pedophiles and rapists undoubtedly consider this development a bonanza. They now have unprecedented access to areas that give them tremendous opportunities for exploitation. Unless bathroom and locker room bills become the law, males can, and will, use public facilities to shower with females against their will.

Jesus said that the conditions before his return would be like the days of Noah and Lot. He also said, “remember Lot’s wife.” A full-size replica of Noah’s ark will be ready for occupancy (for an amusement park) in July. Much more could be said about the days of Noah, but that is sufficient for this purpose. Sodomy, which characterized the conditions in which Lot lived (Lot also was mocked and attacked for attempting to resist Sodomy), has developed from an officially recognized mental illness until a little over 40 years ago, and a crime up until 20 years ago, to the most zealously promoted status currently. So much so, that to oppose the sodomy agenda puts one’s livelihood at risk, as even captains of industry have experienced. It has become the “bully on the block.”

One way to address the “bully,” and the Democrats as its chief promoter, is resistance such as through the ballot box. Ronald Reagan was a Democrat, but recognized that the Democratic Party had left him, so he “caucused” with the Republicans. The Democratic Party has left us. If you can’t bring yourself to vote Republican, at least have enough common decency, and self-interest, to not vote for the Sodomite Democrat Party candidates for elective office.

Thank you from the JDRF

On May 9th, the Montevideo community once again showed their compassion and wonderful generosity. Thank you all for taking the time to come to the TACC on a windy, rainy night for the Dad’s Belgian Waffle feed benefiting the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Ride to Cure Diabetes. Our community made us proud and we were humbly touched by the great turnout! The awesome support is truly appreciated!

We would like to thank: Dad’s Belgian Waffles, the TACC personnel for donating their facility and volunteering their time, Bill’s Supermarket for donating milk, Coborn’s for donating milk, Walmart for donating juice and our amazing family and friends who helped out with the event in several ways. We couldn’t have done it without you!

We are truly blessed to be part of this community. Many thanks for making the waffle feed a tremendous success and supporting our cause!

Show your patriotism

We all try to respect our predecessors, particularly when they have passed from our contact on Earth. We particularly hope to eulogize our most loved acquaintances we have known.

One of these groups are our veteran friends and relatives. Patriots are not all veterans. They can be from any occupation, any nationality, men and women.

Those who have served us in the military are possibly the most common, as they are exposed to their military duties and how well they have performed them. True patriotism is serving those capacities above and beyond what is expected of any soldier.

Conditions change rapidly and the judgement of groups or individuals can lend to terrific differences of performance. Some service people don’t get the opportunity to stand out. Some do what is acceptable, expected and act as good followers. Many do get a chance to go above and beyond and this is when heroism can be developed.

God bless and thank all for their heritage and what they have performed in a lifetime. Our servicemen and service women veterans are especially appreciated and thought of this week of Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Veterans Day.

Food Drive was a huge success

The local USPS Letter Carrier’s Food Drive was held on May 14, 2016, and it was a huge success. The carriers collected over 1,457 pounds of food during the drive, over 400 more pounds from last year, Awesome!

The donations were donated to the Chippewa County Food Shelf and will serve many local families. As the postmaster of the Montevideo Post Office, I was very impressed with the generosity of the people of Montevideo. I would like to thank you for the contributions and look forward to collecting again next spring.
