It is cookie selling season again!
It is cookie selling season again! Montevideo Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines join Girl Scouts around the country to make the girl scout cookie program the largest girls-led business in the world.
The Girl Scouts cookie program happens only once a year for only 8 to 10 weeks and grosses more than $700 million in sales.
The Girl Scouts cookie sales is more than just selling cookies; it is a program activity for girls where the girls learn five business building skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.
Last year we had 50 registered Girl Scouts in Montevideo and they sold 9,889 boxes of cookies,” said Heather Beukhof, Girls Scouts adult leader. “This year we have 55 registered girls and we hope to sell 10,000 boxes with the help of dedicated Girl Scout leaders, parents and a supportive community.
The cookie lineup is the same as last year: Cranberry Citrus Crisps, Thanks-A-Lot, Lemonades, Shortbread, Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Sandwich, and Gluten Free TRIOS oatmeal chocolate chip. Girl Scouts cookies have zero grams trans fat per serving, are cholesterol free and preservative fee. All eight varieties freeze well.
