Tim Miller, state representative from District 17A, will give the main address at Montevideo’s Memorial Day observance at Sunset Memorial Cemetery on Monday, May 30.
The program will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at American Legion Post 59 following the ceremony. The public is welcome to attend.
Miller was raised in Streamwood, Ill., and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of Iowa.
He served his country as a sergeant and legal specialist in the U.S. Army Reserves and was honorably discharged. He also graduated from the Air Assault “Lightfighter” Academy.
Miller also comes from a family with a military background. His dad fought in Korea on a Howitzer crew, and his son currently serves in the Minnesota National Guard on a Howitzer crew.
Miller moved to Minnesota in 2003 and currently lives with his wife and family in Prinsburg. He was elected as our district’s state representative in 2015. Along with supporting initiatives for the men and women who fought for our freedoms, he is also leading the charge on legislation that would construct a new veterans home in Montevideo.
