Commencement exercises for the 131st graduating class of Montevideo High School will be held on Sunday, June 5, at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Commencement exercises for the 131st graduating class of Montevideo High School will be held on Sunday, June 5, at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

One hundred two students — 89 Montevideo High School seniors and 13 graduates of the Area Learning Center — will be receiving diplomas.

Thirty-one students have the distinction of being distinguished honor students after achieving a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.667 at the end of the school year.

Thirty-four students are recognized as honor students for achieving a grade point average of 3.0 to 3.667.

Giving the main address will be MHS Class President Grant Stark. Readings will be given by Katia Osman, Aimee Hampton, Troy Diggins, Kiana Anderson, Mollie Varpness, David Nelson, Jack Sachariason, Sara Johnson, Suzette Munoz, Meghan Mor­ten­son and Olivia Bartz.

Music will be provided by the high school concert band and concert choir. The ceremony will conclude with Montevideo’s signature recessional, “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.”
