This past weekend proved to be a wild one in the weather department, with storms rolling through the area on both Friday and Sunday evenings.

Late Friday afternoon, a large part of western and west central Minnesota experienced a round of severe thunderstorms. Heavy rainfall, high winds, and hail were all reported as these storms moved into Minnesota from the Dakotas.

A trained weather spotter in Minneota reported a wind gust of 80 miles per hour, and reports of ping pong ball size hail were common.
