Before last Friday’s Thunder Hawks home football game, the Montevideo school district recognized and honored two former teachers for their dedication and contributions to Montevideo athletics.

Ralph Lunde was recognized for his 54 years of announcing high school sporting events, and Darwin TeBeest was recognized for his 53 years of timing sports events.

Montevideo activities director Bob Grey and head football coach Dave Vik presented the two former teachers with gifts in appreciation for their many years of service.

Lunde, who began his teaching career at Montevideo in 1961, taught English, speech, and coached the debate team.
