Last Wednesday, Oct. 5, employees at Logic PD in Montevideo were notified that the plant would be closing. A tentative closing date has been set for April 1, 2017.

The company currently employs approximately 80 workers.

Logic PD  has been operating in Montevideo since 1990. Originally known as Micro Dynamics,  the company is located at the Airport Industrial Park on the north edge of town.

Jason Voioivich, chief customer officer for Logic PD in Minneapolis, stresses that the company is very concerned about its Montevideo employees.  He said, “decisions like these are never easy. It’s difficult for Monte folks, and we want them to know we understand.”

The company is offering relocation to some employees, and offering severance packages with “paid time off” paid to those who were not offered relocation, or simply declined relocation.

“We are here to help our employees in any way we can,” said Voioivich. The company  is willing to direct employees to other services that may be available from the government or other entities.
