Santa Claus will make his first appearance of the Christmas season in Montevideo today (Thurs≠day) in the annual Merry Monte Christmas Lighted Parade.

Santa Claus will make his first appearance of the Christmas season in Montevideo today (Thurs­day) in the annual Merry Monte Christmas Lighted Parade.

 

The parade will run down main street, starting at 6 p.m., and end at Smith Park.

 

In addition to Santa, participating in the parade will be Montevideo Mayor Debra Lee Fader, Miss Madison Jasmine Ocania, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The cast of the Montevideo High School Chamberlain’s Feast will provide musical entertainment on the parade route.

 

Following the conclusion of the parade until approximately 7:30 p.m., Santa will greet children at the Hollywood on Main. Children will receive an apple and candy cane. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras for a photo opportunity with Santa.
