Montevideo  High School seniors Carson Hein and Kurt TeBeest have accomplished something that very few students their age would even think about. Both young men recently earned their pilot’s licenses.

That is no small achievement. Getting a pilot license is a major time commitment, and both Carson and Kurt are involved in many activities in and out of school.

It is easy to understand where Carson got his interest in flying. His dad, Mark, has been a pilot for 30 years. For the last 25 of those years, he has been a commercial airline pilot and he is currently flying for Sun Country Airlines out of the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.

In addition to flying jets for a living, Mark is a licensed flight  instructor. He pursued his instructor’s license in the hope that one day he would teach Carson how to fly.
