Graduates of the Montevideo High School class of 2017 will be receiving 130 scholarships totaling $156,200.

Graduates of the Montevideo High School class of 2017 will be receiving 130 scholarships totaling $156,200. Scholarships will be presented by Darwin TeBeest at the Scholarship Tea at the high school gym next Wednesday, May 24, at 7 p.m.

Since the late Claude Dziuk started the scholarship program in 1959, 2,289 MHS graduates will have received $2,670,425, including this year’s total.

This year’s scholarship funds comes from the generosity of 103 local businesses, organizations, families and individuals.

“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give,” said TeBeest, summarizing the impact of the scholarship program.
