The 19th Annual Jump Rope for Heart event was held on Friday, April 20, at Ramsey Elementary in Montevideo. Over 100 third graders participated in the event, with 74 of them collecting donations.
This year’s goal was to raise $5,000 to support the work of the American Heart Association. When it was all done, a grand total of $8,269 was raised by the third graders!
Top fundraisers were Ty Ricke, who collected $440 in donations, and Espen Moe, who collected $400.
Other fundraisers with over $200 in donations were Elijah Huntley, Jessa Manasco, Kenadi Wagner, Jaden Rengstorf, Annika Lalimi, Taryn Stgenson, Kade Ochsendorf, Reese Vandelanotte, Lathen Nipple, and Griffin Epema.
The coordinator for the Jump Rope for Heart event is Jon Dreyer, who along with Ramsey Physical Education teachers Erik Boraas, Chris Fellows, and Amy Reidinger, wish to thank all the third graders for all of their hard work. They would also like to thank the administration and teaching staff of Ramsey Elementary for helping make it all possible.
Since the original goal of $5,000 was surpassed, Mr. Dreyer, Mr. Borass, Mrs. Reidinger, and Mr. Fellows will be getting pies in the face at a school program this month!
