The Chippewa County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Courthouse in Montevideo. Commissioners present were Nordaune, Lieser, Gilbertson, Dahlvang, and Chairman Lopez.
First on the agenda was Sheriff Deputy Derek Olson, who presented an update on the 2018 and 2019 Towards Zero Deaths grant.
Next, the board discussed a contract with Works Computing to upgrade the Checkpoint Firewall security configuration for the State Monitoring Project for $3,750. A motion was made to approve the contract, which was passed.
Following the agenda, the board discussed the 2019 Preliminary Levy. The proposed levy is $10,715,569, which is an increase of 9.16 percent over the final 2018 levy. A motion was passed to approve the levy.
