Six months on the job can feel like an eternity, or it can feel like it went by in the blink of an eye. Interestingly, Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital CEO Brian Lovdahl has been on the job for six months now, and he feels both ways at all times!
“It’s crazy to think I’ve been here almost six months. It feels like two months, but at the same time it feels like two years,” said Lovdahl. “It’s gone so quickly, and there’s been so much that has changes in the six months I’ve been here; it’s been a whirlwind!”
The hospital certainly has a different feel to it, a different atmosphere than it did six months ago.
“The staff is very excited,” Lovdahl said. “I think they were waiting for someone, whether it was me or someone else, to step into this position with a long-term strategic plan ahead and see it through to the end.”
One of the things Lovdahl has brought to the forefront is the increased involvement of staff in all aspects of the hospital’s long-term strategic plans.
“We’re getting a lot of the department managers and providers involved on different things that we’ve started doing,” he said.
