Montevideo Assistant City Manager Angie Steinbach has officially accepted the position of Yellow Medicine County Administrator.
Montevideo Assistant City Manager Angie Steinbach has officially accepted the position of Yellow Medicine County Administrator. Steinbach will begin her duties with Yellow Medicine County on January 7, 2019, and will take over the reigns from long-time YMC Administrator Peg Heglund who is retiring at the end of January.
Steinbach has worked in Montevideo since she became the Director of the Montevideo Chamber of Commerce in 2009. In July of 2012, she became Montevideo’s Community Development Director, and in August of 2015 she was promoted to the position of Assistant City Manager for the City of Montevideo.
When the position of Yellow Medicine County Administrator opened up, Steinbach filled out an application and proceeded to go through the application process, which included an in-person interview. “I felt the interview went very well, and I was pleased when I was eventually offered the position,” said Steinbach.
The Yellow Medicine County Board offered her the position on Nov. 13. Details of the contract were hammered out, and at a special meeting on Nov. 27, commissioners unanimously voted to go approve the contract with Steinbach. “The whole process went very smoothly, and to have the board vote 5-0 to approve the contract was wonderful,” said Steinbach. “I am really looking forward to working with the great staff that they have!”
