Southwest Airlines is adding several flights this month to help football fans get to college bowl games.

The Dallas-based carrier said it will add three special nonstop flights on Dec. 28:


Birmingham, Ala., to Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Oklahoma City to Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Greenville/Spartanburg, S.C., to Dallas (Love Field)

That same day, Southwest will also fly an additional nonstop flight on its regular Chicago (Midway) to Dallas (Love Field) route.

On Dec. 30, the airline will again fly three special nostop flights:


Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Birmingham, Ala.
Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Oklahoma City
Dallas (Love Field) to Greenville/Spartanburg, S.C.

It will also add an extra flight between Dallas (Love Field) and Chicago (Midway).

“Southwest is committed to connecting people to what’s important in their lives and we know how important these games are to so many of our customers,” Brook Sorem, Southwest’s Senior Director of Network Planning, said in a written statement. “We’re making it easier for fans of the top four teams in college football to cheer on their favorite teams as they compete for the championship trophy and we can’t wait to welcome everyone onboard these extra flights.”
