During the regular meeting of the Montevideo City Council on Monday evening, Interim City Manager Rick Almich updated the council on the status of the search for hiring a firm to search for a new city manager.

Following the last council meeting, the city sent out Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to five firms who offer management recruitment services. Almich reported that two firms, DDA Human Resources, Inc., and Springstead/Waters had returned proposals to the city.

Almich told the council that he is familiar with both firms, and  reported that, in his opinion, “the recruitment services provided by the two firms are very similar in nature.”

Almich also mentioned that DDA Human Resources conducts more rural-based city/county manager recruitments than any other executive search firm in the state. He also said that Springstead/Waters conducts most of its business in the Twin Cities area and larger Greater Minnesota Regional Centers such as Rochester and St. Cloud.
