Marilyn Lou Anderson Handeen was born Feb. 18, 1925, to L.W. and Hilda Christine (Tommerson) Anderson of Milan.

Marilyn Lou Anderson Handeen was born Feb. 18, 1925, to L.W. and Hilda Christine (Tommerson) Anderson of Milan. She was a Milan High School graduate, class of 1943, and, at age 20, wed John Handeen, the only child of Fred and Edith (Gallagher) Handeen, of Sparta township, in rural Montevideo. She studied interior design at the University of Minnesota and worked for Hardware Mutual Insurance Company in Minneapolis as a young adult. Marilyn and John raised sons, Paul and Richard, and daughter Dale, on their farm home in Mandt township.

A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. at United Church of Christ in Montevideo, and on Sunday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Willmar.
