Nancy Pearl Hendrickson was born in Montevideo, Jan. 17, 1950, She graduated from Montevideo Senior High School in 1968, and briefly went to Saint Cloud State towards a degree as a teacher. She changed course and moved to Minneapolis for a job working in the Physics Department at the University of Minnesota.
In the summer of 1974, she met Gary Pedersen and they married a year and a half later on Oct. 25, 1975. Their first child, Erika Lynn, was born five years later on Feb. 9, 1980, and Nancy left the U of M to stay home. A few years later Gary and Nancy welcomed Benjamin Walter on July 4, 1983. Gary worked for 40 years just a mile and a half from home, where Nancy later joined him as a billing clerk. She retired in 2015.
She thoroughly enjoyed traveling but also relished being home. She and Gary, her husband of 43 years, had the opportunity to go many places together such as Italy, Guatemala, and Thailand, and would have liked to have seen more. Throughout her life she was devoted to her family and she loved serving God and His people. She enjoyed knitting — especially stockings for her husband who loved to wear them. She also enjoyed working on sewing projects, crafts and anything creative.
She was the perfect companion to her husband. She found happiness in the simple things in life and took great joy in her family and friends.
