Gayle E. Dansby, 79, of Clara City died Monday, April 19 at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. A private family service was held at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with interment in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Clara City.
Gayle was born August 27, 1941, in Madison, the daughter of Luverne (Heyer) Bornus. She grew up and raised by her grandparents in Montevideo. She graduated from Montevideo High School. On May 14, 1960, she was united in marriage to Stewart Dansby. They lived in Montevideo before moving to Clara City, then to California for a few years. In the mid 1960’s they moved to Clara City.
She worked for some years at VSC but enjoyed the opportunity to stay home and raise her children. There was no one who was prouder of her family and who was always there supporting them.
Gayle enjoyed life to the fullest. She and Stewart went camping, fishing and always cherished the time on their pontoon. She took great pride in her flower gardens and working in her yard. More than anything though, her children, and most importantly her grandchildren, brought smiles to her face.
Surviving are her husband, Stewart; children – Nancy Dansby of Clara City, Marc Dansby of Granite Falls, Amy Dansby of Moorhead, Holly Dansby of Hutchinson and Chad (and Allison) Dansby of Hutchinson and raising her grandson, Nick Dansby; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her mother and step-father, Luverne and Melford Bornus; siblings – Corlis (and Donny) Alstad of Brooklyn Park, Brian (and Linda) Schliep of Hudson, Wis., Lana (and Gaylon) Entgelmeier of Inver Grove Heights, Lori Walberg of Eden Prairie and Loretta (and Dave) Moore of The Villages, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
