JoAnn ‘Jo’ Mabey, 69, of rural Appleton, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, in University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. Visitation was 1-2 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2021, at Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton. Burial followed in Big Bend Lutheran Cemetery.
JoAnn Fay Mabey was born January 31, 1952, in Minneapolis, the adoptive daughter of Gustav A. and Viola (Lindstrom) Larson. As a youth, she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Jo was raised in the Twin Cities where she attended Robbinsdale High School. Later, Jo enrolled at Clark Business College in Pocatello, Idaho. She enjoyed reading, writing, playing cards, riding horse, shopping, and watching television. Jo was a long-time member of the Granite Falls Alano Society.
Jo passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, in University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. She attained 69 years and three months of age. Jo is survived by her sons – Darrell Waters of Milroy and Dustin (Becca) Waters of Appleton; eight grandchildren – DeAnthony Keyes, Alexander Waters, Sebastian Waters, Ethan Waters, Lily Waters, Jonathon Waters, Daniel Waters, and Joshua Waters; step-granddaughter, Shayla Ford; one great-grandson, DeAnthony Keyes Jr.; special family friends, Morgan Ervin and Mike Reppe; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Viola Larson.
