The United wrestling team split a triangular at Dawson-Boyd on Tuesday, defeating Wabasso/Red Rock Central 41-27 and losing to Canby 37-29.

The United wrestling team split a triangular at Dawson-Boyd on Tuesday, defeating Wabasso/Red Rock Central 41-27 and losing to Canby 37-29.

Winning both of their matches for Team United were Christian Kanten, at 138 pounds, Peyton Mortenson, 160, and Cole Bungarden, 220. Trevon Johnson picked up a forfeit and scored a major decision at 120 pounds.

One of the best matches against Wabasso/RRC was a 6-3 decision by Mitchell Fulton over United’s Austin Schmitt. Fulton is a former Lac qui Parle Valley wrestler.

The Canby match went down to the wire, with Lancers heavyweight Josh Hansen scoring a 1-0 win over United’s Mason Hutt.

United will compete in a triangular at Tracy today (Thursday) against Worth­ington and Tracy Area. On Saturday, United will compete in a tournament at Milband, S.D.
